While the primary role of the Poughkeepsie Public Arts Commission is of an advisory nature, an important part of what we do is to help individuals and organizations that wish to accomplish something, helping them make necessary contacts, help refine ideas for public art projects, help with permitting processes, and in some cases help find or provide some needed funding.  Advisory role yes, but when a bit of activism is called for we do what we can.
